Solid Hit Soul club is a bi-monthly northern and rare soul club which is now held Upstairs at The City Pride, 28 Farringdon Lane, Clerkenwell, EC1R 3AU. Same details 8pm-1am £5 entry.
We play 60′s soul music, generally uptempo, with a view to getting the dance floor going, rather than stroking our own egos.
Importantly for us (though you may not care yourself), we only play original 45rpm records – which means you get a fresh and exciting mix of sounds, many of which have never appeared on compact disc, reissue, bootleg or on compilation albums. We try and mix in well known classics and current monsters with lesser known gems that deserve greater exposure.
All welcomed, regardless of whether you are a seasoned northern soul veteran or just looking to check out something different. There is no dress code and if you have any questions or queries, drop us a mail.
There are four experienced DJ’s behind the decks at Solid Hit Soul plus a top quality guest. Resident DJ’s are: Gene Robertson, Stuart Tyler, Dave Greenhill and Des Parker all have DJ’d extensively with many many guest spots and residencies under their belts. Previous guests have included the likes of Dave Rimmer, Arthur Fenn, John Weston, Carl and Maria Willingham, Carl Fortnum, Steve Green, Pete Hulatt and many more besides.

Hi Michelle,
I’m afraid a new venue is currently being sought out. If anybody knows anywhere that might be suitable in central London please let us know!
Hopefully the night will resume in the near future.

I’m coming to London from Canada for a holiday 3 – 16 April 2010 and would love to take in a Northern Soul club night. Has an April date been set yet?
Hi Don, I’ve just posted the dates for upcoming nights but this doesn’t coincide with your visit, sorry.
